According to Invest in Bogota, startups based in the city attracted up to US$ 650 million of investments in 2020, despite the onset of Covid-19.
“In general, the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the capital was resilient in the face of the adversities posed by the pandemic in 2020,” said Juan Gabriel Pérez, executive director of the promotion agency Invest in Bogotá.
Specifically, startups in the Edtech, Healthtech and Proptech saw a boost during the pandemic as these companies were providing access to services which were otherwise hindered by social distancing.
To date, Invest in Bogota has assisted over 100 startups and had helped streamlined the procedures for the creation of new companies in the city.
Logysto, a logistics company is one of Invest in Bogota’s success stories. This is because after the company won a seed round of US $3 million last year. The company has since went from having operations in three cities to 10 in Colombia.
