Alibaba forms strategic relationship with Ruta N in Colombia


  • Alibaba and Ruta N signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) committing to training local talent in digital transformation and digital economy
  • Ruta N is a public innovation agency of the city of Medellin, which was created to inspire and encourage innovation in the city

Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, and Ruta N, Medellín’s premier business and innovation center, signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize a strategic relationship between the two organizations.

The aim is for Alibaba and Ruta N to develop and implement projects in Medellin aimed at training and certifying entrepreneurs in e-commerce, digital economy and other areas.

The MoU will also include the Global Digital Talent Program (GET Program), developed by Alibaba Business School for international students, universities and government organizations to have access to the resources of the Alibaba Group.

The talent network, to which Medellin now belongs, is part of Alibaba’s broader global digital transformation initiative, which seeks to “inspire, inform and train” one million young digital talents in the world by 2023.
